Dr Tanya Trinh is a RANZCO triple fellowship-qualified Ophthalmologist specialising in refractive surgery, cornea and cataract surgery. She is the first Australian female surgeon to become a Fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery and Vision Sciences and completed fellowship training in P.E.R.F.E.C.T. for Pterygium under Professor Lawrie Hirst in 2024.
Dr Trinh completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland, where she was awarded a scholarship in Medical Leadership and the Australian Medical Association of Queensland Harold Plant Prize for Best All-Rounded Graduate. She undertook her specialist ophthalmology training in Queensland through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).

Dr Trinh has undertaken extensive subspecialty fellowship training internationally, including at the University of Toronto, where she served as Chief Fellow. Her clinical expertise spans advanced refractive surgery, corneal transplantation, complex anterior segment surgery, keratoconus treatments and laser cataract surgery.
As Cornea Staff Specialist at Sydney Eye Hospital, she co-directs Australia’s only Keratoprosthesis Service and contributes significantly to clinical education and research. She has published extensively, delivered invited lectures internationally and continues to play a leading role in advancing refractive and corneal surgery education.
