Biography

Associate Professor Geoff Wilcsek is an Ophthalmic Surgeon with specialist training in adult and paediatric ocular plastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery. He is strongly committed to multidisciplinary collaboration and works closely with related specialties to optimise outcomes in complex cases.

A/Prof Wilcsek is a regular speaker at ophthalmology conferences and is frequently invited to present at Head and Neck, ENT and paediatric conferences. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

Following his specialist ophthalmology training, A/Prof Wilcsek completed two accredited international fellowships in Ocular Plastics and Orbital Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital (New York) and the Royal Manchester Eye Hospital (UK).

He leads the Ocular Plastics Unit at The Prince of Wales Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital, managing complex adult and paediatric eyelid, lacrimal and orbital conditions.

In addition to his clinical leadership, he plays a significant role in ophthalmic education and governance through his longstanding involvement with RANZCO, including training supervision and national committee service.
