Biography

Dr Colby Hart is a fellowship-trained Corneal Specialist with a strong interest in managing complex anterior segment conditions. He treats a broad range of corneal diseases, including keratoconus and corneal dystrophies, as well as complex cataracts. His expertise also includes refractive laser procedures such as LASIK and PRK, and advanced corneal transplantation techniques including endothelial grafts and keratoprosthesis surgery.

Dr Hart completed his ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, where he continues to work across both cornea and general ophthalmology units. Dr Hart completed his specialist ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, where he continues to contribute clinically within both corneal and general ophthalmology services.

He undertook a fellowship in Corneal, Refractive Surgery and Ocular Surface Disease in Liverpool, UK, gaining advanced experience in complex corneal surgery, refractive laser procedures and anterior segment disease management.

His research collaborations with the Centre for Eye Research Australia, Lions Eye Bank and Liverpool University have contributed to presentations at major national and international conferences. His ongoing academic interests include artificial intelligence applications in ophthalmology and improving corneal donation pathways in Australia.
