Dr Simon Nothling is a fellowship-trained Medical Retina and Uveitis subspecialist. He graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2001 with First Class Honours and completed his general ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital.
Dr Nothling began his ophthalmic training in 2009 at Sydney Eye Hospital, completing 4.5 years of specialist training. He then undertook a 12-month Medical Retina and Uveitis Fellowship at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London during 2013–2014.
During his time at Moorfields, he gained extensive experience in managing medical retinal conditions including age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions and diabetic retinopathy, as well as uveitic and other inflammatory eye diseases. He was also involved in several large interna...
Dr Nothling completed his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital before undertaking a Medical Retina and Uveitis Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. During his fellowship, he developed advanced expertise in the management of complex retinal and inflammatory eye diseases and participated in major international clinical trials.
He previously worked in Neurology and Neuro-ophthalmology in the United Kingdom, enhancing his experience in the overlap between neurological and ophthalmic conditions.
In addition to his metropolitan practice, Dr Nothling is dedicated to rural eye care and works as a Visiting Medical Officer at Broken Hill Hospital, where he provides cataract surgery and medical retina services to regional communities.
