Dr Peter Beckingsale is an Ophthalmic Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in corneal, anterior segment and refractive surgery. He graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1996 and completed his residency and ophthalmology training in Brisbane. During his training, he was awarded the ARVO Scholarship and the RANZCO/Allergan Scholarship.
He subsequently undertook fellowship training in England at The West of England Eye Unit and the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, where he received advanced subspecialty training in corneal, anterior segment and refractive surgery.

Dr Beckingsale completed ophthalmology training in Brisbane before undertaking advanced fellowship training in the United Kingdom in corneal and refractive surgery. He has extensive experience in cataract and refractive procedures, with particular expertise in complex anterior segment cases.
He has been instrumental in advancing corneal endothelial transplantation in Australia and has significant experience in femtosecond laser-assisted corneal surgery, topography-guided LASIK and keratoconus treatments including corneal rings and cross-linking.
In addition to his clinical work, he is actively involved in teaching and research through his academic appointments and contributions to corneal innovation.
Dr Beckingsale takes a meticulous and innovation-driven approach to patient care. He combines advanced surgical techniques with personalised treatment planning to optimise visual outcomes, particularly in complex corneal and refractive cases.
