Dr Michael Shiu is a dedicated Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in the comprehensive management of eye disease, with particular expertise in surgical glaucoma management and advanced refractive procedures. Dr Shiu trained in ophthalmology at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, where he completed a Glaucoma Fellowship and subsequently served as a Staff Specialist in the Glaucoma Clinic for over a decade. During this time, he managed complex glaucoma cases and contributed to peer-reviewed research publications.
His clinical expertise spans glaucoma surgery, refractive surgery and cataract procedures, combining advanced surgical techniques with a comprehensive medical understanding developed through his earlier general practice career.
Dr Shiu has also contributed internationally through volunteer surgical and teaching work in developing countries, supporting the advancement of ophthalmic care and training globally.
