Dr Edwin Figueira is an Ophthalmologist with subspecialty expertise in Oculoplastic, Orbital and Endoscopic Lacrimal Surgery. He completed his Australian ophthalmology training at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney before undertaking an internationally recognised Oculoplastic Fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide.
Dr Figueira has since sub-specialised in oculoplastic surgery, including eyelid surgery, eyelid tumour management, thyroid eye disease surgery, tear duct surgery (including non-incisional endoscopic lacrimal procedures) and orbital (eye socket) surgery. He has particular expertise in minimal incision eyelid surgery, endoscopic tear duct surgery and endoscopic orbital surgery.

Dr Figueira completed his specialist ophthalmology training at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney. He then undertook advanced Oculoplastic Fellowship training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide, gaining extensive experience in eyelid, lacrimal and orbital surgery.
He has developed particular expertise in minimal incision eyelid procedures and endoscopic techniques for tear duct and orbital surgery. His research contributions include numerous peer-reviewed publications and international collaborative presentations on oculoplastic conditions.
Dr Figueira holds a specialist appointment at Prince of Wales Hospital, where he is actively involved in the training and mentoring of Ophthalmology Registrars.
