Dr Medownick trained in ophthalmology at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and undertook advanced training in New York, earning the prestigious Epstein Fellowship at New York Medical College in 1982.
In 1984, he founded the Epworth Eye Centre, establishing a practice renowned for innovation and excellence in eye care. Throughout his career, he has been at the forefront of surgical advancement, introducing pioneering techniques for short-sightedness and leading the use of laser technology in private practice.
